I've sculpted one 4 legged animal and the owl for animals, before that I stuck to anime style characters. That said I don't think a wolf would be difficult.
In the next week or two I will open up for a few 4" commissions. I do take money orders, but I will ask that they be postal money orders (from the post office, not western union). Note me if you're interested and we can discuss there :3
He's incredible but I'm terrified by that skinny leg holding up what looks like a really heavy mass of clay! I guess you have a really lightweight armature though, it's still amazing fun with physics though I adore his chunky feathers, they're so fullsome!
mistakes have been made... others will be blamed...
there is a mass of foil and magic sculpt in the center, but he's MUCH heavier than i thought and I did't have the experience of making a char on one foot to know better. I ended up reinforcing the leg with plumber's epoxy - let's see if it works
srsly! i'm sure it's gonna crack anyway, so i have my arsenal of patching putties and high strength glues to fix it before painting! i might not have experience sculpting on one leg, but i can really fix breaks and cracks XD;;;;
He's looking fantastic. You do an amazing job on the details, and I'm so envious of how you can tell where to press/cut/fold to give the right impression (pun not intended) of the very feeling of an actual owl, even when so stylized and pretty. It's also neat to see where you've put the unsculpted clay to mark the spots.
8D big secret - i know nothing! XD that's the 6th (6th!!!!!!!!) iteration of the back and neck ruff! it was all just playing around until i liked it XD;;; the rest of the feathers will have the same style so it all looks uniform :3
I'm so glad you like it - i feel like i've been fiddling with him so long i'm crosseyed!
