Nice working place, looks like chaos.
free space for creativity/ inspiration.
I like the " LA .xxx..." pillow?
 isn't it?

i exist in a state of chaos!  and it's funny cause i know where everything is... until I clean up!

the 'pillow' says la baleine and has a whale eating a boat on it.  it is a pot holder my mum's friend got for her from france when she was in the navy, like 20 years ago!  Mum wanted to get rid of them when they moved, but i saved it.  little did I know i'd be using it 6 years later as a resting pad for sanding my sculpts :D

that's probably more than you wanted to know about a pot-holder!  XD;;;

some stuff is cheap, some isn't - when I first started I nearly bankrupted myself getting the basics  ^^;

I was lucky enough to pick up a huge bag of sculpey at an opp shop for $2.50, I've never worked with it before so that gives me a great chance to practise :)
It's so much nicer to work with than it is with clay!

Cool! What are your bases made of? Some look like wooden coasters.  :?

my sculpts are made on corks so the sculpt is removable from the base.  Some are solid and the largest 6" ones are made of cork coasters wood glued together cause they don't make solid corks that big :3

after they're done they get transferred and glued to fancy wood bases.

What a neat idea! Hadn't thought of that.
How do you glue the finished sculpture to the fancy wood bases?
What glue is used? Thanks!! :)

yis - it works really well ^^
widgetco.com is a good place for large corks.  get the 'agglomerated' ones cause the texture is more consistent and no big holes :3

the sculpts are glued according to weight - small ones get thick CA glue, and large ones get two part epoxy glue.
