If this is going to be a real statue, than you might want to weight the base so that it doesn't tip over or something :) Epic work!

It looks unstable, like the base will break easily.
I'm assuming there's a rod or something connecting the tail to the baseplate?

nope - she made it to canada just fine in the mail.

I use steel and strong epoxy - if you want to see the armature and how it connects through the base, I have examples in my scraps.

I get it at a miriade of places, depending on where the sales are!  craft stores have 40% off coupons, check micheals or beverlies.  If you need to order online there's blick and utrecht.  ^u^

nope - wire runs through her head and into the base.  Add glue and they're very sturdy.  The chrysalis and twilight is an extreme version of this ^^

One of these days, when I get my engineering internship and have some *real* disposable income, I've got to commission you! Your work is absolutely top notch, and I would say a standard to which other pony sculptors should measure themselves against. :)

wow sounds like a difficult thing to do! You're sculptures are quite small so i guess you use many different sized tools?

It's not too bad :3  I've done it a bunch of times!

Lol i've got tons of tools - from tiny ones to sculpt with to butane torch and cast iron vise with mini hacksaw ^u^

what do you use to paint things like this and your other sculpter cause i want to make so but idk how to the them

To paint you sand and wash the sculpt - let it thoroughly dry.  The give it an even coat of primer and paint with acrylics.  Then you can coat with matte varnish or polyurethane :3
